ViewPoints 1232 8-8-12 Subscribing to and Listening to Podcasts

If you're not already subscribing to the ViewPoints podcast, here is the "magic" text that needs to be copied into your podcatching program in order to do that:

If you'd like to subscribe to some of Pete's favorite podcasts, download the following zip archive, unzip it to a location you can easily find on your system, and import the OPML file into Juice by going to File / Import from within Juice. Here is the link to the zipped file:

If you have trouble downloading the zip file, here is how to do it. Navigate to the link above and then hit Shift+F10 to bring up the context menu (similar to hitting the right mouse button). Arrow down to "Save Target As" and hit enter. Then you should be able to save the zip file where you want it.

If you would like to add the ViewPoints podcast feed to your Bookport Plus, follow these steps:

1. Plug the Bookport Plus into the USB port of your computer and wait for the Book Transfer program to start.
2. In the Book Transfer program, tab to the field entitled "content Type".
3. Arrow down to the item entitled "Podcast Feed Manager".
4. Hit Alt+F, arrow down to "New Podcast Feed", and hit enter.
5. In the dialog that pops up, copy and paste the following text:
   
   
6. Hit enter and your Bookport Plus will now be able to download any or all of the recent ViewPoints podcasts!

To download episodes onto the Bookport Plus

1. Make sure WiFi is turned on for the Bookport Plus.
2. Hit the Menu key on the Bookport Plus, arrow left 4 times to get to the "Podcasts" item, and hit enter.
3. Here you can choose to either "Update the Episode List" or "Download All Episodes in this Feed".
4. Alternately, if the episode list has already been updated, you can simply hit enter on the episode of interest in the Bookport's Podcast folder and you will be asked if you would like to download the particular episode. Hit enter to begin the download
5. You can check the status of the download on the Bookport Plus by hitting the "5" key.

That's it: Now you can enjoy ViewPoints on your Bookport Plus anywhere you go!
